On intro calls, I often hear: “We need someone to write our website copy.” But when I ask what they’re looking for, they say: a homepage rewrite, maybe a service page or two, a landing page so we can run ads later…
And that’s when I know the prospect isn’t familiar with SEO copywriting.
SEO copywriting is strategizing the copy around what your target audience is searching for and how your offer/services/products satisfy their needs. Then structure that content so Google and LLMs can interpret it clearly, and write in a way that moves people toward a decision. Strategy + writing + optimization are three distinct layers of conversion-focused SEO copy.
In this blog, I’ll cover everything that SEO copywriting services for websites and landing pages include, so you never get confused before hiring your next SEO copywriter.
What SEO Copywriting Actually Covers

The writing with keywords in mind is just a small part of SEO copywriting.
In our SEO copywriting process, there are 6 steps to cover to write a compelling and rank-worthy copy.
Audience and keyword research:
Before writing a single word, the SEO specialist identifies what your ideal customer is searching for and what the intent is behind each query.
Search intent mapping:
The searcher in your industry could have different intents while typing a query in Google or asking LLMs. For example, a business owner searching “accounting services for small businesses” is looking for accounting service providers (and maybe he’s ready to buy; thus, your ideal prospect). Another guy searching “how business accounting works” is just looking for info. So, based on your objectives or goals, the SEO expert maps the queries in specific clusters.
Page structure and hierarchy:
Once the keyword research is done, the list is then forwarded to the content/copy strategist, who prepares a brief for how sections should be organized, which questions get answered where, and what the page leads toward. This brief is very important for writing a high-performing website copy.
The actual copy:
That’s where the writer showcases their magic. They write the hero section (heading + subheading, etc), body copy, service descriptions, and CTAs following the content brief. A great SEO copywriter knows how to write a copy that is ready to rank on Google and appear in AI search, and what makes the reader fall in love with it. This is the backbone of all the efforts. But the game is not finished yet.
On-page & AI search optimization:
When the writer is done writing the copy, it’s now time to upload it to the website. But you can’t just copy and paste everything into your CMS (content management system). The website/content manager properly optimizes meta titles, meta descriptions, header tags, internal links, and schema markup (important for AI search).
Which Pages On Your Website Need SEO Copywriting?
Short answer: all of your core web pages (homepage + about + services/solutions/product + subservice pages) need SEO copywriting.
Other content sections, like blogs + news/updates, etc., need SEO content writing.
Homepage
This is the MOST important page of your website and for your business. It needs to clearly communicate what you do, who you do it for, and why you & your business is the best fit for the people you serve compared to your competitors. This is where you need an SEO copywriter who can write creatively both for humans and search engines.
Service/subservice/solution or product pages
These are your money pages. One page per service. Each one needs to be written around the specific queries a ready-to-buy visitor would use. One generic services page covering everything means you’re invisible to the people closest to converting.
Landing pages
If you plan to run paid marketing campaigns for your business, you need to host your offers/services on a landing page. This page revolves around one core offer and compels the visitor to take one specific action. And to get it done effectively, you need to hire an SEO copywriter.
About page
There were times when a site owner treated this page as a formality, without putting any effort into it. But since AI search appeared on the scene, you can’t waste this page. This is where you establish credibility and trust via sharing your story.
Your Copy Should Be AI search-friendly, Along With Google SEO
Up until early 2023, when GPT and other LLMs were not that mature, every piece of content had to be Google-friendly. But after that, the content needs to be GEO (generative engine optimization)- friendly, too. That means the SEO copywriter must understand how AI search works and what they need to do to format and structure a page for AI search.
What AI Search Shift Actually Means for How You Write SEO Copy For Your Site?
The generic, vague, and poorly written copy won’t perform well on Google and in AI search.
SEO Copy that addresses a specific situation, a specific type of buyer, and a specific problem earns citations and trust.
So if you’re outsourcing your website copy to someone, give them complete and clear content and information about your business.
And make sure the writer knows how to do audience and market research, and then write an effective and authentic copy.
Beyond Google and LLMs, this is what you should be doing …because at the end of the day, there is a human reader who will do business with you. You are not selling something to Google or AI; they’re just a medium.
How Much Does Website SEO Copywriting Cost On Average?
There are tens of factors that influence the cost of hiring an SEO copywriter for your website. And it’s totally ok, because there can’t be a one-size-fits-all pricing model, as each and every industry/business requires a unique level of input to generate results.
The more input or effort, the higher the price.
But based on how we have been charging our Saiqic clients and after working across 15+ industries with clients having different objectives, I can give you an average/base pricing idea.
There are three pricing models that usually work:
1. Per Word
This is the weakest and most illogical pricing model. I never charged on this model. But it’s still a thing in the market. You will find an average copywriter at $0.10 per word to a good one at $0.50 per word. But the ‘word-count’ is never the goal, so I never recommend this pricing model to anyone.
2. Per page/project
This is my favorite pricing model. Because the clients get the exact idea of how much they’ll be investing, and the copywriter knows how much effort they need to put in. I know there are freelancers or agencies who charge thousands of bucks for a single page. But our (Saiqic) base pricing, as of 04/08/2026, starts at $120 and goes up to $200 per page. If the client gives us the full context and info, and we don’t need to do loads of research, the base price ($120) works fine for us. Otherwise, based on the industry’s technicality + the level of effort + the time we need to put in, the price could be $150/180, etc. We transparently communicate to the client what’s included and what they’ll get on a page. So this pricing model makes a lot of sense to me.
3. Monthly/subscription-based
You will find agencies or freelancers offering monthly packages or subscription-based pricing for ongoing/retaining clients. This is an OK model, too. We use this as well. But the only problem with this model is that it limits the deliverables, which, sometimes, conflict with the business goals. For instance, if you’re starting from scratch and need to finish your core web content (30 pages) in a month, but the agency/freelancer is only offering fixed deliverables at a fixed price, that would be an issue. And then comes the customs pricing, which again works like per-project/per-page pricing.
In this case, we first use the per-project/page model, and once the foundation is in place, we shift our retained clients to monthly packages.
Here’s how our monthly package looks;
- $800 for 4 content pieces (blog or web pages). End-to-end managed on your website. You just pay, and we take care of Keyword research, topic clustering, writing, and uploading.
- $450 for 4 content pieces if you want us to write following your keywords and content brief.
Saiqic is almost 50% cheap than all US-based agencies. But that does not mean our work is any less than theirs or that we compromise on quality, etc. In most cases (and I’ve received compliments from my US-based clients for this), the Saiqic work process and quality are much better than those of most US agencies or freelancers.
And there is only one reason for our low prices. We are just starting out as a full-stack SEO content agency, so we can keep our profit margins low until we build enough social proof.
Final Take: Effective SEO Copy for the Right Pages Brings You the Dream Results
Your website is literally the hub of your business’s online presence. If you think your business needs a website to grow, then that website deserves copy that actually supports it. And if we look at it from this perspective, website copy is not an expense; it’s an investment.
All of our successful website SEO copywriting projects delivered 100x ROI. No, I’m not making this up. You do the math. For a normal/average website, we charge under $ 1,000, and if that website brings in 1 client worth $500 per month, calculate the lifetime value.
If you want that for your site, talk to Saiqic. Book a call, and we’ll tell you exactly where your copy is losing the right people.
