You’re ranking higher than your competitors and getting traffic. In fact, you’re getting more visitors than before. But when you look at leads, calls, or demos, nothing has really changed. People come, click on your content, some bounce, and some stay for a minute, and then, without taking any action, they leave.
You are wondering what others are doing better. You did complete keyword research and wrote content worth ranking. Yet the inbox stays quiet.
It’s frustrating. You don’t know what you’re doing wrong, what needs fixing, or where to get help.
In this blog, I’ll walk you through the real problems holding your site back, in order of what matters most. And what you should do in each case!
Your Core Web Pages Content Is Not Clear or Effective
70% of the time, when a client comes to us complaining that their site is not converting, the major issue is their core web content.
Core web content pages (Homepage + services/products + pricing + about us & contact us page) are the money pages. If they’re not clear & conversion-focused, forget about leads & sales. This is where conversion-focused website content matters far more than rankings.
The homepage is vague and Fuzzy

Since the GEO & AEO revolution in SEO, your homepage is the most important page of your website. It’s the ‘teaser’ of your business. That’s where you need to clearly & effectively describe what you do, for whom you do it, and why you matter.
But if no one is booking that call or asking for a demo, chances are that your homepage is vague. You didn’t clearly describe your service & convince your ideal visitors.
Go have a look at your homepage.
No Dedicated Service Pages Or Unclear & Ineffective Pages’ Content
Tens of times, we have seen that either the website has no dedicated service pages, or if it has, the content on those pages is useless. There is no hierarchy of sections and no flow in the content. No structural strategy behind it, no SEO planning. Seems like someone fulfilled the formality of having services on their site.
If that’s the case with your website, no ones going to open their wallet for you. If you don’t have dedicated service pages (meaning by 1 full-lenght page for each of your services), go and create. If you have, but nothing is converting, then have a look and ask yourself if you were the buyer of this service, would you sign up for that?
About Page is NOT inserting any credibility & Authority
Your About Us is the SECOND most important page on your website. There’s a reason you started your business. You have a mission and vision, and you really want to (& know how to) solve a real problem of real people. But we have seen that 90% of the time About Us page is there just for formality. It is not inserting any credibility and not telling WHY this website is the go-to source over any other in the market.
If no one is converting, chances are that your About Us page is not trustworthy enough. Go have a look and get it right. Tell your ideal visitors your background & why you exist.
Contact Page Is Not Reinforcing Your Visitors To Get In Touch
If your Contact Us page has a form to fill out, your email & phone number… you’re losing your people. It’s not reinforcing someone who is half-ready to contact you and wants to share their problem and needs your help. Why would someone just hand over their credentials to you if they are not sure how safe their information is and whether they get a response or not?
Treat your Contact Us page as a ‘customer care’ page. If someone lands on this page, they should know that you’ve got their back. Give them more than one option to get in touch (like an inquiry form, a call booking link, etc.). The Contact Us page is the final checkpoint, and you need to make sure that no one is stuck at this point.
You’ve Not Properly Covered BOFu (bottom of funnel) Content
After the LLMs (Like GPT, Claude, Grok, etc.) arrive, your BOFu content strategy brings you the most conversions and leads. That means if you’ve not properly covered the relevant transactional and commercial keywords, your business won’t grow organically.
If you’re just publishing to inform or rank, you get stuck in a never-ending loop: traffic comes in, and leaves without performing your desired action.
BOFu content is where you make them decide. If your site doesn’t offer comparisons, pricing, results, or process details, visitors will never convert. These are exactly the things people search for when they’re ready to make a decision.
Without this content, visitors leave informed but unsure. Traffic will keep growing, but leads won’t.
You Haven’t Optimized Your Website for Conversions (CRO)

We have seen enough websites with generic CTAs, messed-up header & footer layouts, and no clear organization of the overall site and content. This is all weak Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO).
If your website design does not make sense, Google won’t rank it in front of your target audience, and it will confuse your ideal customers.
So go have a deep look at your website’s user experience and interface (UX/UI) and conversion pathways (CTA buttons & navigation).
I’m sure that if you’re getting rankings but not conversions, there is a problem with your website CRO.
Your Website Has Technical Issues That Are Killing Conversions
If your technical SEO and website management are weak, your website could be suffering from low conversions. Everything else (CRO, BOFu, core content) is great, but because of some nasty technical issues, your ideal visitor can’t complete their action.
For instance, a visitor is ready to buy, but when they click the “Buy Now” button, a 404 page pops up. Or the checkout page takes minutes to load. What do you think they’ll do? Leave. Slow website speed, broken links, and pages mean you’re losing your money. Regular technical audits aren’t optional if conversions matter.
So go have a thorough inspection of all of your website pages and links, and make sure they’re working fine.
Your Blog/Article Topics Are Random and Fragmented
You might be following the advice of a fine folk: “Publish daily, keep pumping out content.” That advice is trash. Sure, it may get you traffic, but what’s the use if that traffic doesn’t convert?
Most blogs are random, stuffed with keywords, trends, or impressions. Your blogs exist in isolation, and there is no overarching/compact strategy behind the topic selection. They don’t build on each other or support business goals. Readers finish a post, then move on… nothing guides them to the next step.
When your blog is fragmented like this, it educates strangers for free instead of turning interested visitors into buyers. Here’s What You Can Do Right Now to Improve Your Site’s Conversions
Here’s What You Can Do Right Now to Improve Your Site’s Conversions

Traffic is useless and a vanity metric if it’s not growing your business. So here’s everything in a nutshell that you can plan to fix from today.
Get Your Core Web Pages Right:
Revamp your homepage and service page(s). If you don’t have dedicated service pages, strategize and create them. Insert authority in your About Page and treat your Contact Us page as a customer care page. You’ll see a measurable difference in a month or less.
Fix CRO properly:
Inspect your website. Have a deep look at UX/UI and test all the buttons and forms. If your CTAs are generic, rewrite them. If the layout is messed up, reframe it. If the design looks messy, redesign the pages. If you get your CRO right, your website will be fine.
Cover all Relevant Transactional & Commercial Keywords First:
Help your ‘ready-to-buy’ visitors through BOFu blog posts/articles. Educate them on the costs/pricing of your services. Compare all the alternatives of your service/product (and position yourself as the better option). Solve problems or answer questions that are stopping them from getting your help or buying your service. When you’re done doing that, then and only then plan other blog posts.
Add Lead Magnets & Free Sources On Your Site:
You need to provide free value before they pay you. And not every customer will buy straight away without tasting your services/products. So make them taste your services/products through lead magnets or free sources. These are the micro conversions, and you can capture them too.
Showcase Social Proofs That Your Services/Products Work:
Spread social proof on your website’s core pages. You can even have a dedicated case studies/testimonials page on your website. If you’re just starting your business and don’t have any customers…go out in the market, get some clients/work for free, and get social proof. Video testimonials are the best ones, but text is ok too. Don’t make them up. Get real testimonials.
Have a Consistent Brand Tone & Voice Across the Website:
You must not sound like everyone else. Your brand should have a specific tone. Your messaging should be positioned to your ideal customers/visitors. This will create a connection with your targeted people.
